Tithes and Offerings

As in the Old Testament, the tithes and general offerings as used to fund the everyday costs of ministry, therefore, this is the foundational area of critical giving for the believer. Your donations here are used to fund staff salaries and benefits, the mortgage on the building, normal operating costs such as utilities and insurance, food expenses related to our hospitality ministry, curriculum needs, equipment maintenance and upgrades, and a host of other items necessary to fulfill the mission that God has given to our church.

Missions Fund

Before the Lord Jesus ascended back to heaven, He left the church a “Great Commission” to “make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you” (Matt. 28:18-20). Christ Reformed Church seeks to fulfill this Great Commission through a variety of local and international mission opportunities. Currently, the church is supporting local ministries such as The Calvary Home for Children, The Widow’s Watchman, The Haven of Rest Gospel rescue mission, Shalom Recovery Center, and the Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) ministries at Anderson University and Erskine College.

Capital Fund

In less than three years after the founding of our church, our congregation was blessed to dedicate our new building, located at 1621 North Main Street, to the Lord on Sunday, January 31st, 2010. Your donations help to maintain this building and make improvements to it and to procure necessary large, expensive or unexpected equipment and other resources. The current building is valued at well over one million dollars and we are on target to pay off the mortgage in seven years. Our ambition is to retire that debt early so that those funds might be allocated toward more direct ministry endeavors. Future expansion to the property will be necessary to meet the needs of our growing community and congregation.

Thursday Morning Bible Studies

The women’s Thursday Morning Bible Study (TMBS) is a self-funding ministry of the church that seeks to teach the truths of God’s Holy Word to the Anderson community through inductive Bible Study. TMBS has been a bright light of truth for over thirty years – predating the church itself. Past topics have included: The Apparent Paradoxes of the Bible, The Ten Commandments, Heaven, Running the Christian Race, and Faith. Close to 100 ladies from the community attend these Bible studies in the autumn and winter/spring of the year.
