Alexander S. Campbell is the Senior Pastor of Christ Reformed Church (ARPC) in Anderson, South Carolina. Dr. Campbell received his BS degree from Clemson University in 1985 with a degree in Management. After working as a manager and consultant in manufacturing and service-related organizations for 15 years, he received a Master of Divinity from Columbia International University in 2001. It was at this time that he joined the staff of Christ Church (now Christ Covenant PCA) in Columbia, South Carolina. In 2007, the Campbells moved to Anderson to support the newly formed Christ Reformed Church. Alex received his Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC, in 2015.
His dissertation was entitled Puritan Parenting: Lessons on Family from the Church’s Greatest Generation. Dr. Campbell is a Chaplain (Reserves) in the South Carolina State Guard and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Anderson University and Erskine College.
Alex and Nancy Campbell have been married since 1987. Nancy is an artist, and she teaches history and logic at Highlands Latin Cottage School in Anderson. The Campbells have raised four children, educating them at home.
Pastoral Intern / Secretary
Jack Stauffer – Pastoral Intern
Jack Stauffer grew up in Charleston, SC and serves as the Pastoral Intern of Christ Reformed Church. Jack is a recent graduate of Anderson University with a degree in Christian Theology with a concentration in Biblical Studies. As an intern, Jack serves weekly with the youth of the church, is discipled by Dr. Campbell, and has regular opportunities to preach on Sunday mornings. He is also actively involved with our college student ministry, discipling young men and encouraging their growth in the Lord.
In June of 2022, Jack was taken under care of Second Presbytery as a student of theology. He is currently commuting to Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC in pursuit of a Master of Divinity degree.
Sarah Stauffer – Secretary
Sarah Stauffer grew up in Essex Junction, VT and serves as the Secretary and Bookkeeper of Christ Reformed Church. After graduating from Anderson University, Sarah worked in financial audit for a local firm for a year and a half before joining the staff at Christ Reformed. Sarah has been an active member of Christ Reformed Church since 2015, when she was a freshman at Anderson University.
Jack and Sarah met while attending Christ Reformed Church and RUF as students at Anderson University. Their favorite pastimes are singing together, playing music, reading, and going on walks. They got married in May of 2020 amidst the COVID pandemic and are delighted to serve the Body of Christ together.
Katie Strickland completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Presbyterian College and Master of Social Work at the University of South Carolina. Katie and her husband, Andrew, previously lived in Augusta, GA, and Greenwood, SC, and moved to Anderson in June 2019. Andrew serves as a Deacon and is the current Church Treasurer.
Katie currently works full time as a Hospice social worker for Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson. In addition to her work with hospice, Katie adores children and has a heart for finding ways to connect with and teach children.
Her first jobs out of college were working for Bowers-Rodgers Emergency Children’s Shelter and as an assistant 3-year-old preschool teacher at a Christian preschool. Katie then worked for 6 years at Beyond Abuse in Greenwood as a Forensic Interviewer. During her time in Greenwood, Katie also loved serving in the church nursery and youth group at Rock Presbyterian Church. Katie is very thankful to have the opportunity to serve the church in this way and also looks forward to seeing how God will grow this ministry!
Claire Wilkins grew up in Cashiers/Highlands, NC and serves as the Women’s Ministry Coordinator for Christ Reformed. She attended Clemson University, where she met her husband, Eric. After graduating, Claire and Eric moved to Nashville for a few years, where Claire taught high school English and Eric worked as an engineer. They returned to the upstate in 2020, 3 weeks before welcoming their first child, Davey. Soon after, they joined Christ Reformed and have been active members since, constantly plotting social gatherings and always eager to make guests at their home stay well beyond their bedtimes. Their daughter, Ames, joined the family in July of 2022.
On any given day, you may find Claire tending to their brave flock of chickens, poking a rising loaf of dough, testing out a new ice cream recipe, or playing with MagnaTiles.
As Women’s Ministry Coordinator, Claire gets most excited about organizing and facilitating opportunities for women to grow and nurture edifying and encouraging friendships. Whether through the weekly play group, the women’s mentorship program, the summer book study, or seasonal get-togethers, Claire is grateful for the opportunity to serve the women and families of Christ Reformed!
Youth & Music Intern
Makaria Sanders grew up in Spartanburg, SC. She recently graduated from Anderson University with a degree in Music Education. During her time in college, Makaria dearly loved attending and investing in Christ Reformed. When the opportunity to serve her church full-time after graduation opened up, she was overjoyed!
As an intern at Christ Reformed, Makaria primarily serves the youth and children of the church. Her desire is that the Lord will use her to fix their eyes on Jesus and increase their love for His Word. Makaria is also continuing her education at RTS in Charlotte, pursuing a Masters degree in Biblical Studies.
